HIGH SCHOOL VOCAL ACADEMY | April 2012
Bourbon Baroque’s High School Vocal Academy is a week-long program focused on intense study of 18th century vocal performance practices through the broadly used 17th and 18th century Italian Songs and Arias collection.
The program includes daily voice lessons led by acclaimed early music specialist soprano, Teresa Wakim and accompanied by members of Bourbon Baroque, two group master classes, research seminars, a faculty performance by Bourbon Baroque, and the final Academy Recital at the end of the week featuring the students of the Academy accompanied by Bourbon Baroque.
Students will receive not only training in vocal interpretation of the Baroque song and aria form but also basic primary research materials to keep for future reference/study. Students will work daily with active early music professionals developing a well-rounded appreciation for the historically informed study of Baroque performance methods. Application will be available for download soon.
